CBD Bath Bombs
What better way is there to relax than soaking in a hot tub full of soft, luxurious water mixed with essential oils providing the added layer of aromatherapy? That bath infused with CBD and with CBD bath bombs, you can really level up your relaxation any time.
If you are unfamiliar with what a CBD bath bomb is, they are really cute little orbs, between the size of a golf ball and baseball. They are densely packed ingredients designed to dissolve when you submerge them in water.
The ingredients of a CBD bath bomb, in addition to hemp oil, include salts and clays, as well as essential oils for both soothing effects and aromatherapy. The combined effect of these ingredients is enhanced by the hemp oil added to make these CBD bath bombs really special.
How Do CBD Bath Bombs Work?
The main base of the bath bomb is clay and epsom salt. The use of epsom salt dates back hundreds of years and has a ton of benefits. The Cleveland Clinic notes that epsom salt can help relieve stress and anxiety by increasing serotonin production in the brain.
They also note that it can relieve pain when soaked in because it helps relax the muscles of the neck, head, back and body. It’s important to use high quality epsom salt when selecting a CBD bath bomb.
The other major ingredient holding all the wonderfulness together is clay. High quality CBD bath bombs use kaolin clay, which is a gentle cleanser and detoxifier for skin.
Next up in the CBD bath bomb makings are essential oils. These are often what separates the different products you can buy. You can choose from lavender, rose, hemp, chamomile, eucalyptus, and many others.
Each essential oil adds its own style to the relaxation, so you can choose one to suit your mood and put you in the state of ease you need.
Why Put CBD in a Bath Bomb?
If you are unfamiliar with CBD, it is short for cannabidiol, a compound found naturally in both cannabis and hemp. It is not intoxicating. The World Health Organization has deemed CBD “exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.”
However, as Dr. Rachel Knox points out in an interview with Project CBD, “the endocannabinoid system is the maestro to the symphony that is every physiological system in the human body. And its role is to keep us in balance, to keep us healthy. So, a perfectly functioning and in tune endocannabinoid system keeps us in perfect health.”
It does this through controlling inflammation, which is claimed as a root cause of all disease. CBD has an effect on the endocannabinoid system that helps balance the inflammation signals that we talk about in our FAQ “What is CBD & how does it work?”
So, along with all the benefits of the essential oils, salts and clays used in CBD bath bombs, the CBD can be absorbed through your skin and help your endocannabinoid system balance out pain and inflammation signals, thoroughly enhancing the relaxation quality of the bathin experience overall.
How Does Someone Use a CBD Bath Bomb?
You simply need to dissolve a CBD bath bomb in hot water for about 10 minutes, just long enough for the major portion to have come apart, even if you can still see the sand of it in the bottom of the tub.
I like to add the CBD bath bomb to the tub while I fill it with hot water, that way the cascading water will help dissolve and mix it into the water so when the tub is full, I can just slip in and relax.
For best results, pour a glass of wine, light a matching scented candle, turn down the lights and grab your favorite book. Then, you can relax like a pro!
How Much CBD Should a Bath Bomb Have?
When deciding which bath bomb to buy, you are going to want to know the amount of CBD that you need in each bath bomb. They come in a few different doses, anywhere from 35mg to 100mg of CBD.
Keep in mind that in most cases, the higher the dose of CBD, the more expensive the bath bomb will be, but not in all cases. At any rate, let your pain and anxiety needs guide you.
If you are feeling pretty low, try a higher dose and a longer soak. If you need more of a relaxing refresh, try one with a lesser amount of CBD.

How to Buy CBD Bath Bombs Online
When evaluating which CBD bath bomb you want to buy, you need to look for products made from the highest quality materials. This can be ensured by inspecting the product’s lab test results.
If a product doesn’t offer what is called a certificate of analysis (CoA), then you do not want to buy it. The most reputable CBD bath bombs will be verified by lab testing and those results, showing both that it is contaminant free and that it contains the amount of CBD advertised.
Once you have found the CoA, then you can make your choice for both amount of CBD and also essential oils used. I am currently a fan of the Savvy lavender essential oil bath bomb. The smell is wonderful and it makes me sink into an easy bliss almost immediately.
